Well Pop, I guess it’s time to ride the pale horse, up to the discount hardware store in the sky.

Well that was an early start, but boy was it worth it. Temps are supposed to be near record highs this weekend so no better time than before the sun rises to put in the miles. Also have a busy three day weekend trying to balance the daughter’s riding lessons.

Late last night I knew I wanted to be up early and take in a ride, and I’ve done this loop before. Last time I did this it took me almost 30 minutes longer! Not sure if that improved time is the new bike or the slight tailwind I enjoyed along St. Rose.

Feel really good sitting here writing this cooling down before jumping in the shower to start my day. Looking forward to putting on some more miles this weekend with rides planned for both Sunday and Monday mornings.

For anyone who likes to ride Inspirada in the desert toward Las Vegas Blvd, it is open but don’t fly through there expecting it to be clear. A new round-a-bout has been built at the bottom of the hill (going west) and just beyond that is a large mound of earth blocking the road. If you dismount you can walk around it, but riding past may be tricky. At least as far as I could tell trying to navigate it in the dark.
