Evening Commute – 2020.10.13

A quick PSA. If you’ve noticed the “View Flybys” button missing, Strava recently made publishing of activities to Flybys opt-in versus opt-out. Strava also updated the privacy settings for Flybys to ‘No One’ for EVERYONE. If you want to continue to be seen via Flybys you need to revert this change.

Personally, I LOVE this feature and is one of the things I look forward to when I finish a ride. I love logging on, seeing who I crossed paths with, giving kudos and words of encouragement, and see where others around me are riding. After finding this change this morning I reverted it immediately.

To do so via the website, click you avatar followed by settings. Click on Privacy Controls. Under Flyby ensure that Everyone is selected versus No One. On the app (Android), tap on Profile followed by the Gear. Roll down to Privacy Controls and tap it followed by Flybys and ensure Everyone is selected. Sadly I don’t have an iOS device to research instructions on how to revert this change.

Tonight’s ride was another nice one. Little warmer than yesterday, but nothing to complain about. Felt really good and strong for the whole ride, but not record breaking.
