Commute Loop – 2023.12.26

Unfortunately not much to report with today’s commute. It was certainly a little chillier than last week. It was the first time this year I got out the wool jersey and AmFIB Shell. I have to admit the shell was a little much and I probably could have gone with a simple vest instead, but when I see temperatures in the 30s I’d rather be overdressed with an option to open up or de-layer. That’s exactly what I did once I started north on Las Vegas Blvd. I can’t remember which intersection it was, but I did end up opening up the bottom of the jacket and opening it all the way up to the chest strap of my backpack. From then on into work things were great.

For the ride home I opted for arm warmers under the jersey, no overshoes, and no jacket. When I first started rolling I was nervous I’d made a mistake going without the jacket. I could really feel the wind moving through the jersey and I started thinking I was going to get cold. Thankfully as I started moving and putting in some work I warmed up perfectly. Nothing too crazy happened on the way home and the ride was uneventful.
