Commute Loop – 2025.01.15

I finally bit the bullet and busted out the full thermal tights this morning. Temperatures in the 30s are a little cool for summer bibs and leg warmers.

I had a great ride to work. I focused on enjoying the ride and keeping the power even while staying in Z2. No point in putting in any efforts after last night. Along the way at Las Vegas Blvd and Windmill I hit a red light. While I was waiting for the green I looked over and spotted a guy on a motorcycle leaning down and, for lack of a better term, hugging the engine trying to get warm. As I watched he looked up, we made eye contact, and I started rubbing my hands together. I could see the smile in his eyes and he threw me a shaka. That had me laughing out loud at our shared misery. It was fun.

As the end of the work day approached I was really starting to drag. I could have easily kicked my feet up and taken a nap. This put me in a state of mind to not want to deal with heavy traffic buzzing by. In response I opted for a slightly different route home which would allow me to enjoy the trip a little more than I usually do. Overall it worked out pretty good.

Now it’s time for a nice dinner before heading to bed early to make up for lost sleep last night.
