Father Winter has finally entered the chat, at least for the next couple days according to the weatherman. Compared to a week ago it was brutally cold this morning, and cold like this makes it hard to get out and ride.
While I was outside getting ready I decided to grab an extra shell for a little more protection from the wind and was happy I did. It was just enough to make the ride down to Scrambled more bearable.
Unfortunately, that extra layer was another piece of kit that had to get stuffed into my backpack for the ride home. I also swapped my long sleeve baselayer for a short sleeve version and opted for a lighter pair of gloves as well. All in all that makes for a baselayer, shell, pair of gloves, and shoe covers in the backpack for the ride home. Overall happy with my decision despite having to lug around all the extra kit.
I got busy with some work things which had me leaving an hour later than usual. The ride home went well, but I did start getting cold after making my way through Anthem Hills Park. Then got even colder making the quick descent on Evening Sky Drive. Pulled up to the house right as the wind really started cutting through my jersey.
