Commute Loop – 2023.05.22

I was thinking last night I should just take an extra day off the bike and do a Tue/Thur week this week. After the ride home I wish I would have.

The day started early with taking the daughter to school. She had to be there at 5:30. I woke up at 4:15 to get her up at 4:30 so we could leave by 5:00. I did everything I needed to do, but the kid fell back to sleep and I had to wake her again at 4:55. Thankfully she gets ready quick and we were out the door in no time. Made a quick stop at Starbucks for breakfast and drinks for the both of us.

After dropping her off I drove back home. I figured since I still had plenty of time so I’d ride in. I never got to campus with fresh clothes this weekend so I choose to load up a rack bag instead of stuffing everything in my backpack. Crazy how much just a few pounds of stuff completely changes the feel of the bike.

The ride to the office was great. Was feeling really good the entire way in. Then again it is also mostly downhill.

Leaving for home I didn’t even make it to Tropicana before I started feeling the fatigue in my legs. At first I thought my legs just needed to wake up after a long day at work, but I was wrong. The entire ride home I just wasn’t feeling it. Legs were heavy and the heart was tired. Even my backside was complaining.

None the less, made it home without any issues. Had a nice dinner and now I’m just about ready to crash out. We’ll see what the rest of the week holds when it comes to commutes. Hopefully the legs will wake up by Wednesday.
