Commute Loop – 2023.08.08

Decided to add a little trip out Via Inspirada this morning for some bonus miles. It’s nice to have a long stretch of road with minimal interruptions.

Today was a perfect example of, “If you live by the tailwind you’ll die by the headwind”. Riding any segment northbound was awesome with a 10+ MPH tailwind pushing you along. Las Vegas Boulevard and St. Rose/Pecos were a dream. On the flip side anything southbound, for example my entire ride home, is a lesson in patience while battling the wind.

Overall I felt good today; however, as the commute home got further and further along my legs started fading. Not sure if it was because I was having fun smashing in the morning or continued weakness post tour. Either way the beatings will continue until the legs improve.
