Commute Loop – 2024.04.03

Lesson of the day: “Never skip the pre-flight check.”

I bent over to attach my floor pump to my rear tire when I spotted a bulge in the tire. A solid inch of the sidewall was separating from the bead. I’m not sure if the cycling Gods are angry with me or not. I didn’t ride over the weekend. I had been putting off putting on a new set of tires I purchased late last week. Who knows what else I’ve done wrong.

Thankfully I had a pair of tires sitting on the counter ready to go. Swapped them out and hit the road. Took the shorter “breakfast” route in since I was getting a late start.

Riding was great. Feeling much better and quite recharged despite having a busy weekend loaded with chores. Loved riding home in summer kit, but I’m ready for a few more degrees in the morning.
