I have to admit that I struggled to get up and on the bike this morning. I didn’t have to work today on account of it being Nevada Day (observed). I could have easily put on street clothes and drove down to Scrambled, enjoyed a nice relaxing breakfast, and driven home. After hemming and hawing for several minutes the feet finally hit the floor and I started kitting up for a ride.
After breakfast I was eager to put in some extra miles; however, I was also aware of the fact that I had a paper due before midnight that I hadn’t really started yet. It’s funny how I started the day not wanting to ride, and after breakfast I didn’t want to stop.
Along the way home I threw in a few hard efforts in Seven Hills and on the Democracy climbs. I even ran into Richard, who I didn’t recognize as Richard at the time, along the way up Nawghaw Poa Rd. Once at the top I was surprised to see the visitor contact station had been removed. Richard wasn’t far behind me and we had a nice chat for about ten minutes before I rolled out for home.
