Back at the commute game after an extended absence.
Last week was the final week of the fall semester. The end of an academic semester is a busy time for me under normal circumstances, but taking MBA classes effectively doubles the amount of work which needs to be attended to. I had to write evaluations for my 12 student employees, take a final exam for my cybersecurity class, and write a final essay for my marketing class. With all that on my plate the extra two hours I gain by not commuting are huge. Adding to that I can work as late as I want without worrying about riding home afterwards is a bonus. Thankfully that is all done and dusted and I can enjoy the next few weeks before the spring semester starts up.
I also have to admit that it is so very easy to get into the habit of just jumping in the truck and driving to work. Getting back into commuting is a struggle after a week like last week. It is even worse in the winter when you have to go out in the cold. I really struggled to get into kit and ride, but, as usual, I didn’t regret it.
Overall great rides today, which is nice. Now to relax for the rest of the evening before hitting the sack early.
