Commute Loop – 2026.02.02

First morning commute in shorts for the year. I did opt for arm warmers though. We’ve been truly blessed with an incredibly mild winter. Especially when compared to what’s been going on back east.

No arm warmers for the ride home, and the wool base layer was almost too much. I was certainly warm for the first half of the ride home, but the temperatures dropped pretty quick.

I’m not entirely certain, but I think I got yelled at along Warm Springs. I was in the center lane waiting for traffic to clear before moving to the right. I just heard what I thought was someone yelling at me, but I couldn’t make out any specifics.

I mention this because a little way down the road, along Pecos just south of Wigwam, I got yelled at again. This time I somehow was able to recognize the truck and yelled out in retort, “JOEY RUGGS!!” Then the man pulled over and I pulled up for a quick hello. Always a treat to run into someone you know while out and about.
