Morning Commute – 2021.06.29

Beautiful morning for a ride.

Was having a nice rip along Pecos when I spotted a pair of buses heading my way. Pushed hard to get a draft and felt kinda successful just before Wigwam. Rolling up to the light at Wigwam I felt like Jean-Claude Van Damme in the Epic Splits Volvo Truck commercial.


Had one bus in the right turn lane, me in the bike lane, and another bus to my left in the northbound travel lane. As the light went green, I cranked out nearly 1300 watts (lol) to keep up with and get into the draft of the northbound school bus. Right as I was starting to pull a minor draft he pulled over to stop in front of Pecos Legacy Park. My hopes for a pull up the hill dashed I settled down to cruise the rest of the way.

Only other notable was running into a fellow cyclist at the corner of McLeod and Sunset. Had a nice little chat about the
