Morning Commute – 2020.08.06

I’ve been talking for months about getting a new bike and I finally pulled the trigger last week. That lean and mean road machine is almost ready to ride I’m just waiting for the final fitting before I roll it out.

In the meantime I have the first world problem of owning two bikes. Instead of relegating my trusty old MTB to the garage I decided to turn it into a commuter. Added a rear rack, some panniers, and I’m off to the races.

With the pandemic I’ve been mostly working from home and only going to the office when absolutely necessary. Today was the first time in a month that I need to go to the office so it was the perfect opportunity to give a ride to a try.

I tried my best to keep it mellow to not arrive to the office too nasty, but looking at my heart rate I was in Zone 4 and 3 most of the time. Still arrived a little sweaty but nothing a quick splash of water and towel off couldn’t fix.
