Commute Loop – 2023.09.05

I can’t believe I rode in to work today after the weekend I’ve had. It’s pretty rare for me to do two centuries in one weekend, but when they’re on a 2-for-1 Labor Day weekend special you take what you can get.

On the ride in I was feeling pretty good, but I started to fade as I got closer to campus. The ride home; however, was a different story. While I felt good, I could tell by watching my heart rate that I was definitely fatigued. I struggled to stay in zone two as I got closer and closer to home. By the time I crossed Sunridge Heights while climbing Sandy Ridge I had given up on keeping my heart rate elevated. My legs were tired and I was feeling the burn, but no increased heart rate to compensate.

Get to have a day off the bike tomorrow before riding in again on Thursday. I’m up in the air on whether to ride on Friday or not. I need to plan the Adobo Velo ride for Saturday and it would be a shame to be the ride leader and not finish.
