Commute Loop – 2024.03.13

I was somewhat nervous to ride this morning. The local news had been talking about strong winds out of the north for much of the week. I even went so far as to put on my lower profile wheels to avoid getting blown around. I was kinda surprised when I left that I felt like I had a tailwind traveling north on Las Vegas Blvd, but I certainly wasn’t going to complain.

Leaving at the end of the day, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the winds hadn’t picked up nearly as much as the weather forecasters would have led me to believe. The ride home was nice, but the winds were definitely more out of the northwest versus strict north. Thankfully, I was somewhat protected and didn’t get pushed around too much. If it would have been more out of the west I may have taken an alternate route home to avoid busy Pecos.

As I was heading home I put in my regular efforts like I’ve been trying to do lately, but had my sights set on Soccer Field Hill. I thought for certain that today would be the day I would rock it out of the park. Pretty disappointed to see that I only tied my previous best. Oh well there’s always next time.
